It’s been two weeks since I registered for the PE Exam. I have been studying, slowly.
There are a lot of things I know. I’m actually surprised at how much I’ve learned in the last 30 months (to the day). It seems much of that was not taught in school. On the flipside, there are topics I remember vaguely from senior year classes that are not only coming back with a vengeance, but I feel significantly more comfortable around.
Isn’t that interesting.
Still, with 75-ish days until the exam, I feel like I’m barely keeping my head above water. There are a lot of things I don’t know. When the day of the test comes, there will still be a lot of things I don’t know yet. Between now and then, I will be of course be learning as much as possible, but I will also be building muscle memory with regard to flipping through books and understanding where to find what I need.
That was the key to the FE Exam, aside from the thousands of practice problems and actual memory training. Indeed, the PE Exam is harder — it’s also 100% open book. I’ve got the books; I just need to figure out what’s in them.
It’s a long road, still, yet it’s getting shorter every day, against my every wish. I hope I’ve made the right choice here.
