The road to Hollywood: Jay Onrait and Dan O’Toole say goodbye to TSN

These guys are the best! I’m sad for Canada, but happy they’ll be just a few hours away from me now, and possibly on my TV!

Jay Onrait wanted to meet at a bar near his home in Kensington Market, on a patio where he had already hosted a procession of farewell gatherings with friends, some of whom he had not seen in years. Tucked deep in the heart of Toronto’s most eclectic neighbourhood, the bar was a squat, one-storey building with a corrugated metal façade and ashtrays that had been emptied, but perhaps never cleaned.

“It’s one of those places where you come, and before you know it, it’s seven hours later, you’re obliterated, you’re peeing in the alley,” Onrait said with a broad smile. “It’s kind of a divey little bar, and I love it.”
